When You Need More Joy
The Bible says to rejoice in the Lord always, but it doesn’t leave us there. Tucked at the end of those well-known verses in Philippians it says … because the Lord is near. I pray you know just how close God is and that He definitely sees you during this difficult time.
Romans 15:13 (TPT)
Now may God, the inspiration and fountain of hope, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in him. And may the power of the Holy Spirit continually surround your life with his super-abundance until you radiate with hope!
Philippians 4:4-5 (TPT)
Be cheerful with joyous celebration in every season of life. Let your joy overflow! And let gentleness be seen in every relationship, for our Lord is ever near.
When You’re Missing Someone Special
‘Tis the season to miss those we love. I miss my dad the most during the holidays, along with so many on my side of the family that have moved out of state over the past two years. If you’re in a fresh season of grief, I pray these verses minister to your tender heart.
Psalm 34:18 (NLT)
The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart. And He saves those who are broken in spirit.
Psalm 56:8 (NLT)
You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.
Matthew 11:28 (GNT)
Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest.
When You Feel Overwhelmed
Feeling overwhelmed is my go-to emotion! Hah! But, really… it seems to come on quickly and easily, especially with ALL the added “stuff” this time of year brings— both good and challenging. This is where Tracking God is a life-saver! As the first verse states, “Never turn your gaze from me …”
Isaiah 41:10 (TPT)
Do not yield to fear, for I am always near. Never turn your gaze from me, for I am your faithful God. I will infuse you with my strength and help you in every situation. I will hold you firmly with my victorious right hand.
I Peter 5:7 (TPT)
Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you.
I created a FREE printable version of these verses that you can download here: Bible Verses to Remind You That God Sees You This Holiday Season.
May the next few weeks be filled with unexplainable peace, hope, and joy as you focus on the presence of God.
“The Lord is near.” Thank you Jesus!
